What does Alchemy mean to you? Talking in scientific terms it surely can be turning substances into gold. And this place will surely make you feel that.
Alchemy believes in perfection. It is an amalgamation of fresh and finest ingredients and turning them into eclectic flavours. An open-air dining experience on the 10th floor with a crisp view, impeccable fusion dishes and of course the best of beers. The place is a delight to watch at night with their intricate colours of gold and black with an austere yet contemporary feel to it.
It has both open air and indoor dining available. There is a huge bar separating both the sections. Indoor dining is finely decorated with bamboos and is more of a comfortable setting.
Beers & Cocktails
Alchemy also has a microbrewery which serves the finest of the beers. They brew 6 beers and all of them are a must try. Apart from the Stout, Pilsner, WitBier, and Pale, they have introduced two very unique mergers, especially for the Indian audience. Jaggerye is an amber ale brewed with a malt and has a kick of jaggery in it. Guava Gose is my new favourite which is a modern take on German wheat beer. It has a blend of pink guavas along with juicy tangy limes in it.
Though I was still in awe of the beers, their signature cocktails gave such a good competition. They have beautifully curated the menu and its a contentment to see it. One of my preferred drinks out of the lot has to be The Ghazal. It is a blend of rum, ginger, honey, and pineapple. Their drinks are potent and smooth.
Another one I liked a lot was the Melon Blush, an amalgamation of vodka and watermelon with egg whites.
The menu is a complete fusion of dishes with an Indian twist on them. We started our meal with Artichoke Aloo Samosa. A must shot for vegetarian folks. Crispy filo cones with artichoke filling and a tinge of wasabi cream in the end. Saag Paneer Spanakopita is another fried crisp with a filling of spinach, cottage cheese, and feta cheese.
In non-vegetarian, hickory smoked chicken kebab is a fire roasted, well-cooked chicken kebabs which are a treat to the mouth. Chilli Chocolate Seekh kebab is a mutton delicacy with a syrup of chocolate on top. It is served with a crispy chaat on the side.
Of all, my favourite has to be Chicken Sukka Bulgogi which is chicken chunks served on mini appams. This fusion is one of a kind and an essential order.
Rock Shrimp Pakoda is a seafood dish which I enjoyed a lot too. You can also try the Bangalore Chili Kebab which is served in mini tacos with tomato gojju.
In the vegetarian section, we tried their Five Cheese Kofta along with the Honey Comb Bread. The kofta just melts into the mouth and the tomato-infused gravy gives a spicy kick. The honeycomb bread is a delicious aloo mala filled bread which surely takes you back to childhood days.
I tried the Spring Chicken Bharta next with their appetizing Sriracha Chicken naan. The naan was stuffed with minced chicken and spices and cooked to perfection. The chicken bharta is a little gravy dish with an egg toast on top.
Twice cooked lamb was our next dish. The lamb fried kebabs in a mellow green peas sauce. The pepper roasted pork is just delicious and well cooked. It is served on a quinoa uttapam with pork belly meat on top.
While moving to the seafood, the Grilled prawns were impeccable. Large prawns with a makhani sauce on top of grilled upma. The Konkan Fish fillet is a basa fish on a bed of quinoa chitranna and lemongrass coconut curry. The curry is sweet and tangy and goes well with the fish.
Just like the other dishes, the desserts are also with a twist and piquant. The Gondhoraj lemon mousse is my favourite of all with disintegrated elements. A nitrogen infused mousse on a bed of creamy lemon mousse and sauce. A tangy dessert with one of a kind flavours.
The Mysore Pak Cheesecake is one of a kind with Mysore Pak essence. This one is a most noteworthy dish and is a sure order on my next visit. The Green Mango Mille Feuille is another tangy green mango delight just as we get in a “kacchi keri”.
The Hazelnut Holige may not be the best in looks but magic happens as you take a bite along. It is filled with Nutella and ghee soil and is heaven for chocolate lovers. Furthermore, the Carrot Halwa Torte is a basic carrot halwa served with dates purre and is a delight for dessert lovers.
When you are so happy after such a wholesome meal, your words cannot describe the feeling. This place gives you explosion of flavours on your palette and is sure to startle me further on next visits too. I would recommend enjoying this place at night with a beautiful ambience and some delicious food. They also offer some great lunch offers with 3-course and 4-course meals at nominal prices.
